Due to a lot of misunderstandings in recent musicals, there has been a lot of research done by the fans on the characters' names and meanings. I have gathered this information from the Yahoo! Seramyu group to share with you all. Credit given to the people who did the research!

Dracul
The writers didn't mistake "Dracula" and write "Dracule", Dracula actually means "son of Dracule", so _he_ was the first vampire. (Rose V.)

 Elizabeth Baltory
She was insane, and used to torture and kill her handmaids.. then bathe in their blood, to "keep her youthful looks". She was sealed off in her castle and killed. (Rose V.)

worked with Joan of Arc, but after her capture worked with alchemy/witchcraft. Killed more than 100 children. (Ian M.)

Death Lamia
In Greek mythology, Lamia was a monster represented as a serpent with the head and breasts of a woman and reputed to prey on human beings and suck the blood of children. (Ian M.)

Dark Kain
Cain was the of Adam/Eve son who killed brother, Abel. Also, the name Ab-e-ru (Abel) is mentioned in some of the Dracul shows. (Ian M.)

Death Vulcan & Vulcan
Vulcan is associated with outer space as far as I know, and it looks like they both came from space, especially considering the name "Chou Wakusei Death Vulcan no Fuuin". Their costumes look outer space-y too, don't they? They have those Egyptian Hieroglyphs (sp?) on all their stuff, too. Wasn't Vulcan (Nana Maria Okamoto) a really good singer? I love that song, Itan no Jyuusei. Vulcan is also the Roman God of Fire, and Vulcan is a hypothetical planet inside Mercury. (Marty)

Lilith of Darkness
supposedly the first wife of Adam, but she is replaced by Eve in Hebrew folklore. After doing so, she becomes a fiend/female demon. So, Lilith of Darkness is also evil and Bible Associated. (Ian M)

 Mandrake
an herb native to Europe of the genus Mandragora. It is a poisonous plant and it's also known as the Devil's Apple. Mandrako is of similar origin. (Ian M.)
 Astarte
a Phoenician fertility goddess; counterpart of Ashtoreth and Ishtar. Her name may be related to "Aphrodite." So, the character's full name would be Shiba Full Moon (Shingetsu) Astarte. (Ian M.)
 Leah Ruby
In the Old Testament of the Bible, Leah was the first wife of Jacob. (Ian M.)
 Bilhah Emerald
In the Bible, Bilhah was Rachel's handmaid, whom she gave to Jacob. (Ian M.)
 Zilpah Sapphire
In the Bible, Zilpah was Leah's handmaid, and the mother of Gad and Asher. (Ian M.)
